All eyes will be on the Detroit Red Wings for their next few games to see if they can pull off the biggest home winning streak in the history of the NHL. The Wings currently have 18 straight wins at Joe Louis Arena after their most recent 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.
The record for most home wins in a row, set by the 1975-76 Philadelphia Flyers, is 20 straight games. The Wings have a chance to clinch a tie on that record against the Flyers on Sunday assuming they can beat Anaheim. Their chance to break the record will come next Tuesday when the Dallas Stars come to town.
Detroit haven't lost at home to the Ducks since way back in 2008, though streaking Anaheim will have a slight advantage facing one of the Wings back up keepers as Jimmy Howard continues to miss time with a broken finger. The Wings streak over the Ducks currently sits at eight wins in a row at the Joe. If nothing else, this just screams 'trap game' for the Wings so they can't afford to just look ahead to Philly on Sunday.
The game will be at Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 PM ET.
