Sharks Vs. Red Wings: Detroit Looks To Keep Streaking At Home Against San Jose

The Detroit Red Wings try to defend their 22-game winning streak at home on Sunday afternoon when they host the San Jose Sharks.

Pavel Datsyuk kept the streak alive on Friday with a last-second goal to propel the Red Wings past the Nashville Predators 2-1. The home winning streak has applied a little extra pressure to the NHL's top team with opponents looking to make some headlines by ending the streak.

Winging It In Motown has noticed that Detroit will get the best effort from every opponent with the winning streak extra incentive to beat the Red Wings, but this game is equally important for the home team when looking ahead to the big picture in the playoffs.

Quite frankly, as badly as the Sharks might want to end the streak, this game is bigger for the Wings. Here's a team that has taken it to the Red Wings the last two seasons. Two losses already this year. Two early exists from the postseason the last two years. The Red Wings have something to prove. The Sharks have been a kryptonite for this team recently and it's time for the Wings to send a message and shove it in the Sharks face.

The puck drops at 12:30 p.m. ET with the game televised on NBC.
