NHL Trade Deadline 2012, Red Wings Stay Quiet On Transaction Front

The 2012 NHL trade deadline has come and gone, and the Detroit Red Wings look much the same after the fact.

Aside from a move to trade defenseman Mike Commodore to Tampa Bay in exchange for a future late-round draft choice, the Red Wings stood pat at the deadline and will press forward with their current mix.

The trade deadline proved uneventful across the league, as few big names were snapped in trades, and Rick Nash -- the Blue Jackets captain and subject of extensive trade rumors -- remained in Columbus.

The Red Wings, who have lost three straight games for just the second time all season, will travel to Columbus to take on Nash and the Blue Jackets tonight, and the game can be seen locally on FSD+ at 7:00 p.m. EST.
