The Detroit Red Wings have had a couple of bad showings since they set the all time record for most home wins in a row in NHL history a few weeks ago. Losses to the Vancouver Canucks and Colorado Avalanche pushed the team down a bit before the regrouped with a 5-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road. They face the Minnesota Wild on Friday evening hoping to avoid losing their third home game in a row.

The Wings are still facing a few injuries with Nicklas Lidstrom remaining the biggest name out. The Wild are road weary (3-12-4 over their last 19 away from home) and just flat out haven't played very good hockey in recent weeks since being the biggest emerging surprise at the start of the year, so it's not a game that the Wings will have any real excuse to lose.

Minnesota do have two wins over Detroit this year, a 1-0 win back in October and a 2-1 overtime win at the Joe in November.

The game will be at Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 PM ET.
