Red Wings Vs. Kings: Detroit Heads Home To Face Los Angeles

After two straight losses, the Detroit Red Wings come back home to face the LA Kings on Friday.

After two straight losses and watching the St. Louis Blues pass them in the division, a trip back to Joe Louis Arena against a team they've beat twice this year might be what the doctor ordered for the Detroit Red Wings.

Still without Niklas Lidstrom and Pavel Datsyuk, the Wings have dropped four of their last five home games during a big slump that followed the greatest home winning streak in NHL history. The Kings have been fairly good in their recent games, with the trade for Jeff Carter doing wonders for their previously stagnant offense.

Joey MacDonald will likely get the start in goal for Detroit once again, he is an impressive 7-3-1 while filling in for Jimmy Howard so far in 2011/2012. Detroit has beat LA twice this year in impressive fashion, by combined scores of 12-3.

The game will be at Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 P.M. Eastern time.
