On Tuesday afternoon, the Detroit Red Wings announced via their official twitter account that the team has come to terms with 2010 fourth-round draft selection Teemu Pulkkinen with a three-year entry level contract. Pulkkinen is a 20-year old, 5-foot-10, 198 pound left winger and was the 111th overall selection in the draft.

He has been playing for Jokerit of the SM-liiga, which is the top professional hockey league in Finland and the second strongest league in all of Europe, according to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). After playing only 15 games in his first two years, Pulkkinen played in 55 games in 2010-11 and registered 18 goals and 36 assists for a total of 54 points.

In 2012, he played for Finland at the Junior World Championships and scored four goals in the third period of a game against Denmark, which tied a record for most goals in a period of a World Juniors game.
