Signing Of 2011 Red Wings Draft Pick Tomas Jurco Delayed

The 35th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, talented forward Tomas Jurco remains in limbo without a contract from the Detroit Red Wings due to a lack of a transfer agreement between the International Ice Hockey Federation and the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation.

Despite not having a deal done by Friday's deadline, Jurco's case has been extended indefinitely until an agreement is reached and he is actually able to sign a three-year entry level deal with the Wings. A crafty, playmaking winger with an extremely high ceiling, Jurco is arguably the most highly-touted prospect in Detroit's organization at the moment, and he figures to make a significant impact on the organization in the coming years.

Jurco tallied 30 goals and 38 assists in 48 games with the Saint John Sea Dogs this past year, and will move on to play for the Grand Rapids Griffins next season after his contract is finalized.
