On Wednesday afternoon, the Detroit Red Wings announced their preseason schedule for the 2012-13 season, which will consist of a total of eight games against the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals. Detroit will play one home game and one road game against each opponent, including back-to-back games against both Chicago and Toronto.
After playing consecutive road games against the Penguins and Blackhawks, respectively, the Red Wings will have all four of their home games in successive order. The team will conclude the preseason on Oct. 7 when they travel to Washington to take on the Capitals.
