NHL Draft Results: Rhett Holland Selected In 4th Round

Rhett Holland is the latest player with ties to Michigan State to be selected in the 2012 NHL Draft. He was picked 102nd overall (in the fourth round) by the Phoenix Coyotes, becoming the third future Michigan State player to be picked in this year's draft. (In the third round, future Spartans Mackenzie MacEachern and John Draeger were selected with back-to-back picks.)

Holland is from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The past three seasons, he played with the AJHL's Okotoks Oilers. He recorded three goals in both the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons. In 2010-11, he had two goals. In those three seasons, he had eight, nine and seven assists, giving him point totals of 11, 11 and 10. In that sense, he has been a very consistent player.

Holland is set to join the Michigan State Spartans for the 2012 season.
