Four future Michigan State hockey players have now been selected in the 2012 NHL Draft. The Spartans had two taken in the third round, one in the fourth round and now one in the seventh round with incoming forward Matthew DeBlouw being picked 186th overall by the Calgary Flames.
DeBlouw, who is set to join Michigan State's team this fall, is from the state of Michigan. He also played in the state of Michigan the past two seasons for the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks. He had 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points in 58 games last season, and in 2010-11, he had two goals and four assists for six points in 33 games.
