Considering free agent Zach Parise was planning on heading home to Minnesota on Tuesday to talk his future over, this tweet caught a lot of people's attention this morning:
↵↵↵Honestly just walked past Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock in the MSP airport!! I wonder what he is doing here #parise

↵The obvious first reaction is to assume that Babcock is in Minnesota to meet with Parise. That would seem like a very good thing for the Detroit Red Wings' chances of signing Parise, and at the very least it would show that Babcock is pulling out all of the stops to convince Parise to join him in Detroit.
↵While that is an entirely possible scenario, the more reasonable explanation is that Babcock is headed back home to Saskatchewan. Chances are his flight is connecting in Minnesota and that is the actual reason why he was at MSP on Tuesday morning.
↵Even if Babcock is merely connecting to another flight in Minneapolis, it obviously wouldn't be a bad thing if he happened to run into Parise while at the airport.
