Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Johnny Damon's RBI single in the sixth inning proved to be the difference, as the Detroit Tigers rallied past the Baltimore Orioles, 4-2, in the final game of the season for both clubs.
Brandon Inge hit a two-run homer for the Tigers (81-81), who snapped a six- game skid. Phil Coke, making his first big league start, lasted just 1 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Daniel Schlereth (2-0) tossed 3 1/3 scoreless frames of relief to get the win.
Nick Markakis and Luke Scott each drove in a run for the Orioles (66-96), who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end. Brad Bergesen (8-12) gave up three runs on four hits over a seven-inning start.
Baltimore went 34-23 after Buck Showalter took over as manager on August 2.
