Jim Leyland has been bringing his son Patrick to Spring Training for years, but this year will be a little different. Patrick Leyland will be in uniform. Patrick, who was drafted out of high school in the 8th round last summer, is among the 18 minor leaguers the Tigers extended invites to this year.
↵Leyland's son will be one of four other minor league catchers invited to Spring Training, including veteran Max St. Pierre -- who finally received a call up last season -- and "highly regarded" Bryan Holaday.
↵Fu-Te Ni and Enrique Gonzalez are two of the six pitchers invited, both of whom saw time with the big club a year ago.
