Tigers Vs. Yankees: A Pair Of 1-2-3 Innings Keeps Game Tied After 3 Innings

The Tigers went down just as easily in the top of the 3rd inning to Ivan Nova as they did in the 2nd inning to CC Sabathia.

Nova needed just eight pitches to retire Jhonny Peralta, Brandon Inge, and Austin Jackson (ground out, pop out, line out, respectively).

In the bottom half, Robinson Cano started the inning off by ground out to Ryan Raburn. Cano hit one deep down the right field line that would’ve been a home run, but it was foul.

For the rest of the updates, I’m going to be doing live blog bang, live diary like:

8:58 p.m.: Doug Fister just finished carving up Alex Rodriguez on a foul tip strikeout. TBS shows the sequence and it looked awesome.

8:59 p.m.: It only took three pitches and sixty seconds to do the same to Mark Teixeira. 1-2-3 for Fister after his rocky first inning.

Magglio Ordonez leads off the top of the 4th inning for the Tigers.
