Tigers Vs. Rangers Score: Detroit Extends Lead To 4-1

The Detroit Tigers offense took a while to get going in Game 3, but it's really starting to heat up now. After scoring runs on a Victor Martinez home run and a Miguel Cabrera double in the fourth and fifth innings, the Tigers added two more in the sixth inning.

Just like Martinez's home run in the fourth inning, Jhonny Peralta opened the sixth inning with a solo shot. Peralta's home run went out to left field, and it gave the Tigers some insurance by putting them on top by a score of 3-1.

After Alex Avila and Ryan Raburn were unable to do anything, the Tigers faced two outs. Andy Dirks singled to center, and he stole second base. Austin Jackson delivered a clutch two-out single -- his third hit of the night -- to score Dirks and give the Tigers a 4-1 lead.

Detroit is headed to the bottom of the seventh with the 4-1 lead thanks to Doug Fister continuing to cruise. He has pitched a brilliant game, and all he needs to go is one more inning before Jose Valverde takes over.
