Sunday was originally supposed to be an off-day for the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees as the series shifted to Detroit. Due to rain on Friday pushing the final seven and a half innings of Game 1 to Saturday, Game 2 was pushed back to Sunday afternoon. The game will get started at 3:07 p.m., and after it is finished, the two teams will head to Detroit for Game 3 on Monday.
Although it's not an ideal situation to have Game 2 on what was supposed to be an off-day, the good news is the Tigers can quickly put the 9-3 loss in Game 1 behind them. The turnaround from Game 1 to Game 2 is very quick, and the panic that fans are starting to feel could be eliminated with a good start on Sunday. All the Tigers really needed from the first two games was a split, and they can achieve that with a win in Game 2.
