Tigers Vs. Rangers: After 6 Innings And 2 Rain Delays, Texas Up On Detroit, 3-2

After over 90 minutes of rain delays, Game 1 of the ALCS resumed play just before Sunday with the Rangers leading 3-2.

Left-handed pitcher Mike Gonzalez took over for C.J. Wilson with two outs and the bases loaded to face lefty hitter Alex Avila in the twice suspended 5th inning. On the second pitch, which looked up-and-in, Avila grounded out to Kinsler to end the nearly two hour 5th inning.

In the bottom of the 5th inning, Rick Porcello took the mound, replacing Justin Verlander (4 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 5 K). Porcello worked a quick, 11-pitch 1-2-3 inning to get the Tigers back into the dry dugout.

Alexi Ogando, who has dominated the Tigers this season (3-0 with a 1.59 ERA), took over for Gonzalez in 6th and worked a scoreless frame.

Rick Porcello tossed another 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 6th inning, retiring Beltre, Napoli, and Cruz in order. He will likely be replaced in the 7th.

As for the Tigers, the heart of the order will bat in the 7th.
