Tigers Play A Little Clubhouse Hockey During Rain Delay

Rain delays bring out some of the wackier moments in baseball, and Tuesday was no different for the Detroit Tigers.

A few Tigers players apparently got into the spirit of the Stanley Cup playoffs during Tuesday's rain delayed game with Toronto. Pitcher Brad Penny posted a video of an unnamed Tigers player donning some goalie gear and taking a shot right off the mask.

Yes, you saw that right. The goalie takes it right off the kisser, not even making an attempt to move. There is no word on who exactly was behind the mask, but one theory is that it's third baseman Brandon Inge. It would make the most sense anyways, as Inge is one of the more laid back guys on the team. Although judging by his "lightning quick" reaction to the ball smacking him in the face, it's not exactly encouraging for his third base skills.

Another question is where did they get the hockey gear? The Tigers are owned by Mike Ilitch, who also owns the Red Wings, so maybe they swiped some of Jimmy Howard's practice gear.
