Brennan Boesch And Miguel Cabrera Hit Back-To-Back Homers To Tie Game

The big sticks came through!

Brennan Boesch and Miguel Cabrera greeted Daniel Bard in the 8th inning with two no-doubt home runs of their own to match the pair of solo homers the Red Sox hit to tie the game up at three apiece.

Boesch’s home run was a scorching line drive that just hooked around the right field foul pole. It was his first home run since a 6-3 Tigers win on May 5 vs. the Yankees.

Cabrera provided the encore to Boesch, hitting a rain-maker to left field over the Green Monster. It was Cabrera’s first home run in the month of May and came at a time when Cabrera was hitting just .167/.340/.590 over his last 11 games entering tonight.

The last time the Tigers went back-to-back was back on April 6 against the Baltimore Orioles when Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera did it in the 5th inning off of Brad Bergesen. The Tigers won that game 6-3 and Justin Verlander was also the pitcher of record.

Verlander will head out to the mound for the 8th inning at 98 pitches.
