Diamondbacks Rally Past Tigers, 7-6

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Wily Mo Pena's solo home run in the eighth inning helped lift the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 7-6 comeback win over the Detroit Tigers in the opener of a three-game interleague set.

Pena finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI in the designated hitter spot while Xavier Nady drove in three runs for the Diamondbacks, who have won seven straight on the road and were coming off a three-game sweep of Kansas City.

Esmerling Vasquez (1-1) recorded the win after tossing a one-hit seventh for Arizona.

Casper Wells had two run homer and Jhonny Peralta knocked in a pair of runs for Detroit, which suffered its fifth loss in seven games.

Reliever David Purcey (1-1) was charged with the loss after giving up the late home run to Pena.
