Tigers' Don Kelly Placed On Paternity List

The Detroit Tigers placed first baseman Miguel Cabrera on the paternity list following Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. He missed Thursday's game to witness his wife give birth, and he is already back with the team and in the lineup for Friday night's game in Minnesota against the Twins.

As it turns out, Cabrera isn't the only player to go on the paternity list this week. The Tigers placed Don Kelly on the list on Friday since his wife is going to give birth or already has given birth.

Temporarily taking Kelly's spot on the roster is Danny Worth, who was called up from Triple-A Toledo.

The Tigers called up catcher Omir Santos from Toledo when Cabrera went on the paternity list. Santos started at catcher on Thursday, giving Alex Avila his first day off in weeks. Santos was sent back down to Toledo once Cabrera rejoined the team, but he will likely be back in a week when the rosters expand.
