Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Nolan Reimold's RBI single in the sixth inning proved to be the difference, as the Baltimore Orioles took down the AL Central-champion Detroit Tigers, 6-5, in the opener of a four-game series.
Reimold added a sacrifice fly in the fourth for the Orioles, who have won three in a row and eight of their last 10. Adam Jones and J.J. Hardy homered.
Baltimore starter Zach Britton (11-10) gave up five runs on six hits over five innings to pick up the win.
Delmon Young hit a three-run homer for the Tigers, who have lost two of three.
Detroit starter Jacob Turner allowed five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits over three-plus innings. David Pauley (5-6) gave up one run on two hits over two relief frames to take the loss.
