Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series for the Detroit Tigers will be played at either 5:07 p.m. or 8:37 p.m. Friday, MLB announced Tuesday afternoon.
↵If the Tigers finish ahead of the Texas Rangers for home-field advantage, they will host Game 1 at Comerica Park at the 5:07 p.m. start time. ↵Going into Tuesday night's schedule, the Rangers had a one-game lead over the Tigers for home field.
↵The Tigers finished 1-5 against the Red Sox, 6-1 versus the Rays, and 4-3 against the Yankees during the regular season.
↵MLB also announced the start times for potential Wild Card tiebreakers on Thursday. If the Red Sox and Rays need a one-game playoff, that game will start at 4:07 pm ET. If the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals have to play a tiebreaking game, it will begin at 8:07 p.m.
