The Detroit Tigers have finally started Spring Training, as pitchers and catchers reported for them on Sunday. They will get their position players on the team on Thursday and then the road to Opening Day will begin with high expectations for the Tigers. First, they have to get through a month of Grapefruit League games down in Fort Meyers, Florida.
The schedule for the Tigers in the Grapefruit League can be found on their official website. They'll start the Spring Training games off with their first game, their only game against a non MLB team during ST, when they take on the Florida Southern College Mocs on March 2. ST games extend a full month to April 2 for the Tigers, their final game being against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Tigers will open the season proper at Comerica Park against the Boston Red Sox on April 5.
