The early front-runners in the American League Central Division are back in action on Saturday afternoon when the Detroit Tigers (5-2) play the Chicago White Sox (4-2) in the second game of their three-game weekend series at U.S. Cellular Field.
Chicago took the opener on Friday, 5-2 behind a solid pitching effort from Jake Peavy for their third-straight win. On Saturday, the White Sox will turn to right-hander Gavin Floyd who gave up five runs and a loss in his first start, one of just two losses for Chicago.
Detroit will turn to little-used reliever Adam Wilk to make his first career start in the major leagues. The left-handed Wilk is filling a gap in the starting rotation created by the loss of Doug Fister who is now on the disabled list with a strained rib muscle.
The first pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET and will be shown on Fox Sports Detroit.
