Tigers Vs. Rangers: Justin Verlander To Start Saturday's Second Doubleheader

Justin Verlander will take his scheduled start for Saturday's second doubleheader of the day. The Detroit Tigers lost badly earlier in the day, falling 10-4 at Comerica Park. Rick Porcello was pulled after giving up nine runs in just one-plus innings. The reigning AL Cy Young Award winner will hopefully fare a little better, though the Rangers' bats have been absolutely on fire lately.

Counting Saturday afternoon's win, the Rangers have now won eight games in a row. They have outscored opponents 63-22 over that span, and own the best record in the majors at 12-2 overall. Texas scored 10 runs in each of their last two games against Detroit, combining for 36 hits.

Neftali Feliz will take the mound for Texas. The 23-year-old righthander has allowed nine hits in 12 inning played over two starts this season. He enters Saturday evening's game with a 2.25 ERA. Verlander is 1-1 this season with a 2.13 ERA in 25 innings pitched over three games.
