After giving up 10 hits in four-plus innings in his last start against the Texas Rangers, Adam Wilk only lasted two-plus against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night. Wilk trotted out to the mound for a third inning after giving up four earned runs in the first two frames, but got the hook before he could register an out. In all, Wilk's final line reads six earned runs on eight hits and quite possibly a demotion.
Through four innings, the Tigers are trailing the Mariners 6-1. The lone Tigers run came off the bat of Brennan Boesch, who homered in the third, his third of the season.
Felix Hernandez, who is 8-0 with a 3.05 earned-run average in his last nine starts against the Tigers, has settled in nicely after walking the bases loaded in the first inning.
