Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Luis Marte has been placed on the 15-day disabled list after straining his left hamstring and will be replaced on the roster by Duane Below, according to the official Twitter account of the Detroit Tigers.

Below pitched in 14 games in his rookie season for the Tigers. He threw 29 innings, registering an ERA of 4.34 and a record of 0-2.
Below lost the competition for the number five spot in the rotation to 22-year old lefthander Drew Smyly. The Tigers begin the season against the Boston Red Sox on Opening Day Thursday.
