Tigers Vs. Athletics Preview: Detroit Looks To Rebound In Game 3 After Friday's 11-4 Loss

The Detroit Tigers take another crack at the Oakland Athletics Saturday night, hoping for something more resembling Thursday night's 10-6 victory than Friday's 11-4 defeat. They'll also be hoping Brandon Inge starts looking more like they player they cut in late April; he hit a grand slam in Game 1 of the series and homered again on Friday.

Doug Fister will be throwing for Detroit, while Brandon McCarthy will take the hill for the A's. This is only Fister's second start since suffering a rib strain in his first start, and he pitched seven scoreless innings against the Seattle Mariners on Monday. That was a 73-pitch outing, but he may see more action than that as he recovers. His last start against Oakland was last September, when he allowed only one hit over eight innings.

First pitch is 8:05 p.m. EST, with the weather looking cloudy and cool.
