With their split against the Oakland A's, the Detroit Tigers continued an unfortunate trend that has kept them switching wins and losses back and forth all of May. They'll get a good chance to string together two wins in a row when they take on the Chicago White Sox in the first of an abbreviated two game series on Monday.
Drew Smyly is taking the mound for the Tigers and the in form pitcher will face a White Sox line up that has been offensively limited in their last two games, both losses. Smyly has pitched very well so far this season to the tune of a 1.59 ERA. He'll face John Danks from the Sox, who has been a bit less impressive with a 2-4 record and 5.89 ERA.
Prince Fielder in particular will need to boost his game to earn the Tigers a second straight win -- he went 0-18 against the Athletics in their last series.
The game will be at U.S. Cellular Field at 8:10 p.m. ET.
