Tigers Vs. Pirates Starting Lineups: Detroit, Max Scherzer Aim To Lock Up Game Three

Unable to mount even a two-game winning streak thus far in the month of May, the Detroit Tigers will send pitcher Max Scherzer to the mound for Sunday's series finale with Pittsburgh.

Detroit dominated game one on Friday behind a near no-hitter from MVP winner Justin Verlander, but dropped Saturday's rematch after a pair of home runs by Pittsburgh outfielder Andrew McCutchen turned the tide. Scherzer will face a Pittsburgh lineup that comes in averaging just 2.8 runs per game over its last ten contests. The red-hot McCutchen, though, has been the No. 1 offensive catalyst with a whopping five home runs over that same span.
