The Detroit Tigers are making a nine-game road trip to the west coast without their long-time radio analyst, Jim Price. The team requested that Price remain behind, though no official reason is given, according to MLive.com. The last time Price didn't make a trip with the team, it was due to serious health issues, compounded by a weakened immune system due to his second bout with cancer.
↵Again, there's no official reason given, but Price did have similar illnesses that players were having in the clubhouse the last time, and the team could be thinking that Price might be in danger of getting the rest of the team sick. It's really unclear at this point.
↵Either way, former Tigers pitcher Dan Petry will work with broadcaster Dan Dickerson, according to the report. He'll be on for the whole nine-game road trip, and Price is scheduled to return on May 16, when the TIgers will take on the Minnesota Twins are home.
