Andy Dirks has been on a tear for the Tigers lately, collecting two hits in each of the last four games (.471/.500/1.324), but he'll be shelved on Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners because his hamstring is still 'barking':
Leyland said he's giving Dirks tonight off to rest his left hamstring, which is still a little sore. Could pinch-hit. #Tigers

Leyland said that he hopes to rest Dirks for the entire game. Dirks has already missed time this year due to that hamstring and the Tigers don't want this to become a nagging injury throughout the season. Dirks had just been implemented into the No. 2 spot in the order and is hitting .339/.362/.969 this season, so he's a huge piece to the Tigers lineup.
