Jhonny Peralta will be returning to the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday after missing a chunk of the weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds. His wife gave birth to twins on Saturday and the shortstop was given paternity leave for the weekend as well as the team's day off on Monday. His return should come just in time for the opener of the series against the Chicago Cubs.
With the shortstop returning, the Tigers will be optioning infielder Hernan Perez to single-A Lakeland.

The 21 year old Perez had come up to the big leagues to act as a backup infielder and with Peralta out was put up to bat in two games during the series against the Reds, on Saturday and Sunday. He got his first ever major league hit on Sunday with an infield single.
