Tigers Vs. Cubs: Starting Lineups For Tuesday's Series Opener

Interleague play rolls on for a banged-up Detroit Tigers squad on Tuesday evening, as manager Jim Leyland's 28-32 ball club will take on the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in the first of a three-game set.

Detroit starter Max Scherzer (5-4, 5.88 ERA) will take the ball for the Tigers hoping to get back on track after getting bombed for eight runs (five earned) in his last start against AL Central rival Cleveland. Prior to his implosion against the Indians though, Scherzer had reeled off 30 strikeouts over his previous 18.1 innings and was starting to look like one of the better swing-and-miss pitchers in the American League.

Offensively, the Tigers will feature a surprisingly-normal 1-through-6 in the order with recently-injured outfielder Austin Jackson finally settled into his usual leadoff spot and right-fielder Brennan Boesch back up to the No. 2 position. Here are Tuesday's starting lineups:

Tigers
1. Austin Jackson - CF
2. Brennan Boesch - RF
3. Miguel Cabrera - 3B
4. Prince Fielder - 1B
5. Delmon Young - LF
6. Jhonny Peralta - SS
7. Gerald Laird - C
8. Danny Worth - 2B
9. Max Scherzer - SP

Cubs
1. Tony Campana - LF
2. Starlin Castro - SS
3. David DeJesus - RF
4. Alfonso Soriano - LF
5. Bryan LaHair - 1B
6. Steve Clevenger - C
7. Darwin Barney - 2B
8. Ian Stewart - 3B
9. Paul Maholm - SP
