The Detroit Tigers "have interest" in San Diego Padres left fielder Carlos Quentin, according to Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com.
Morosi shot out these tweets Thursday morning:
Sources: #Tigers have interest in trading for Carlos Quentin. He has a scorching 1.463 OPS in 12 games with #Padres since returning from DL.

Followed by:
Quentin’s salary this season ($7MM) viewed as possible impediment to deal with #Tigers. Not clear if there are any serious talks.

It's hard to tell just how legitimate this is. Regardless, Quentin would certainly be a welcome addition to the Tigers' offense.
Quentin, 29, missed the first 49 games of the season while recovering from knee surgery. He joined the Padres after a nine-game stint in the minors, and has been raking ever since. In 12 games he has a .421 batting average, a .542 on-base percentage and five home runs.
