Detroit Tigers Injuries: No Starting Pitcher For Thursday, Could Be Doug Fister

After the Detroit Tigers finish their series against the Colorado Rockies, they'll get Monday off. Then Justin Verlander and Rick Porcelo will move up to start Tuesday and Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals, respectively. As for Thursday's starter ...

"Right now, I have no idea," manager Jim Leyland said . "I could tinker with it and I could pitch (Doug) Fister if I wanted."

The Tigers are down to a four-man rotation with Casey Crosby no longer in the majors and it probably won't be until next week before they are back to a five-man rotation. This means Leyland and the Tigers' pitching staff are going to have decide whether or not Fister is ready to take the mound since he was just activated from the disabled list. That decision is heavily dependent on what happens on Saturday, which will be Fister's first start since May 28.
