Tigers Vs. Cardinals: Starting Lineups For Tuesday's Series Opener

Interleague play rolls on for the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night at Comerica Park, as the hot-hitting St. Louis Cardinals come to town for a three-game set.

Detroit hitters will be facing one of the season's biggest surprises in Cardinals pitcher Lance Lynn, who is 10-2 with a 2.42 ERA through 13 starts. Lynn has yielded three runs or more in just three of his outings this year, and enters on a remarkable 13.1-inning stretch where he has whiffed an unprecedented 23 batters.

Hopeful that he can cause problems for Lynn on the basepaths Tuesday evening, manager Jim Leyland will send out his speedy, top-of-the-order 1-2 punch of Austin Jackson and Quintin Berry to bat in front of power bats Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder. With ace Justin Verlander on the mound to keep things honest, game one of the series is shaping up to be a marquee interleague pitching battle.
