Despite a recent MRI revealing no structural damage in his throwing shoulder, the Detroit Tigers have decided to take caution with Daniel Schlereth's injury:

Schlereth suffered a setback with his shoulder after a bullpen session in the middle of May was cut short, triggering a visit to a clinic in Denver. Schlereth had the shoulder looked at, but tests showed that there was nothing seriously wrong with it and that he would simply need to continue rehabbing. Whether the injury is more severe or not, Schlereth will have more time to recover.
By moving Schlereth to the 60-day DL, it is very likely that a corresponding roster move will follow soon.
