Tigers Vs. Cardinals Final Score: Detroit Falls In Game 2

The Detroit Tigers lost 3-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night at Comerica Park, falling to 33-35 on the year.

The loss ends Detroit's three-game winning streak. Its lone run was scored in the third inning, when Austin Jackson scored Gerald Laird on a double to put the Tigers up 1-0.

Detroit would lose Laird to a left hamstring injury in the fifth inning. He was replaced by Bryan Holaday. Jackson had two of the Tigers' five hits.

Rick Porcello pitched a good game, but it was not enough. In seven innings, he gave up two runs off 10 hits and struck out two. Nine of those hits were singles.

Jake Westbrook (6-6) pitched a complete game for the Cardinals and got the win. He struck out five.
