Tigers Vs. Pirates: Detroit Tries To Even Interleague Series With Pittsburgh

The Detroit Tigers resume their interleague series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday afternoon at PNC Park as they try to bounce back from a 4-1 series-opening loss on Friday.

The loss on Friday was the second in three games for the Tigers after winning four of five and appearing to be finally gathering a little momentum. The offense has struggled in the last three games, though with only four runs scored in all three games combined.

Detroit will try to get the bats rolling on Saturday against Pittsburgh right-hander Brad Lincoln (3-2, 3.82 ERA) who was recently added to the starting rotation. In his last three starts, Lincoln is 0-2 without making it past the fourth innning in any of the three starts.

Detroit will look to slow down the Pirates with Max Scherzer (6-4, 5.17 ERA). The right-hander is 4-1 in his last six starts and coming off of a strong outing in the Tigers' win over Colorado last Sunday when he pitched eight shutout innings.

The game is scheduled to start 4:05 p.m ET on Saturday and will be televised on Fox Sports Detroit.
