Tigers Prospect Rob Brantly Named As Replacement In All-Star Futures Game

On Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that catcher Rob Brantly has been named as an injury replacement in the 2012 All-Star Futures Game, which is set to take place on Sunday, July 8 as part of All-Star Weekend in Kansas City. Brantly is a member of the Detroit Tigers' Triple-A affiliate, the Toledo Mud Hens.

He is currently batting .271 with five RBI in 19 games with Toledo. During a stint earlier this season with the Tigers' Double-A affiliate, the Erie SeaWolves, Brantly hit .311 with three home runs and 24 RBI in 46 games played.
