Tigers Vs. Rays: Rick Porcello Tries To Swing Series Back In Detroit's Favor

The Detroit Tigers play the third game of a four-game weekend series with the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday evening after the teams split the first two games of the series.

The Rays evened the series on Friday when David Price outdueled Justin Verlander for a 4-2 win as Tampa Bay snapped a four-game losing streak. For game three, the Tigers will look to right-hander Rick Porcello (5-5, 4.71 ERA) to try to slow down the Rays. Porcello is coming off of a strong outing in his last start when he earned a win over the Texas Rangers, giving up just one run in six innings. Porcello pitched well against the Rays earlier in the season, giving up two runs in seven innings in a no decision that Detroit won 5-2.

Tampa Bay will counter with right-hander Jeremy Hellickson (4-3, 3.45 ERA) on the mound. Hellickson is coming off a couple of weeks on the disabled list to rest his shoulder after going 0-3 in his last five starts. Closer Kyle Farnsworth is also expected to be available out of the bullpen for the Rays for the first time this season.

The game is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m. ET and will be televised on Fox.
