Tigers Vs. Indians Score Update: Detroit Trails 4-1 After 6 Innings

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off Ubaldo Jimenez, but the typically wild right-hander for the Indians has held the Tigers in check through six innings and the Indians lead 4-1.

Miguel Cabrera got the scoring started with a double to left in the first inning, scoring Quintin Berry who had been hit by a pitch to lead off the game. Berry stole second, his seventh swipe in 13 games, to get into scoring position for Cabrera to knock in his 45th run of the season.

Drew Smyly cruised through the first two innings, allowing no hits and striking out four, but ran into trouble in the third when Shin-Soo Choo singled and Asdrubal Cabrera knocked him in with a triple to tie the game at 1-1. Smyly would give up two more RBI triples, one in the fifth and one in the sixth, to help the Indians to a 4-1 lead.

The Tigers had runners at the corners with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, but Delmon Young flew out to right on the first pitch of his at bat to leave the runners stranded.

Ubaldo Jimenez has not walked a batter though six innings, putting him on pace to not walk a batter in a game for the first time since June 7, 2011.
