Tiges Vs. Reds: Austin Jackson Back In Lineup, Leading Off And Playing Center Field

The Tigers have lost eight of their last 11 games, but they get a huge piece of their lineup back on Saturday in the second game of a three-game series with the Reds. Austin Jackson, activated from the disabled list early Saturday, will return to his normal leadoff spot in the batting order and play center field.

Quintin Berry, who played admirably in Jackson's stead, is the odd man out in the outfield. Berry is hitting just .222/.300/.670 in seven games in June and was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Friday night. Meanwhile, Delmon Young is hitting .286/.286/.714 over that same time frame and has an .840 OPS over his last 20 games; Brennan Boesch has five hits and a home run over the last two games, so Leyland is opting to go with the hotter bats.
