On Monday night, the Detroit Tigers completed a trade with the Miami Marlins that sent infielder Omar Infante and right-handed starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez to Detroit in exchange for top pitching prospect Jacob Turner, top catching prospect Rob Brantly and left-handed pitcher Brian Flynn.
In addition, the teams will be swapping competitive balance picks in the 2013 draft, with the Marlins giving up a pick after the first round and the Tigers giving up a pick after the second round (now that the picks have been traded, they can't be traded again).

The Tigers have reportedly been interested in acquiring middle infielders as well as starting pitching for several weeks and were reportedly one of two teams scouting Sanchez's latest start against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.
