Tigers Vs. Indians Final Score: Detroit Bounces Back In Cleveland

The Detroit Tigers earned a 5-3 win over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night, giving them a four-game lead over their division rival. The Tigers sit atop the American League Central.

Max Scherzer (10-5) earned the win, giving up just three hits and two earned runs in seven innings of work. He struck out eight and walked four.

Quintin Berry went 3-for-4, including RBI-singles in the second and sixth innings.

The Indians' Derek Lowe pitched six innings, gave up five hits and four earned runs. He had one strikeout and three walks.

Joaquin Benoit replaced Scherzer in the eighth inning and Jose Valverde entered in the ninth. In his first appearance since last Friday (sore back), he picked up his 19th save of the season.

Game 3 is Thursday at 7:05 p.m. ET in Cleveland.
