The Detroit Tigers will go for their fourth win in five games against the Baltimore Orioles this season, and fourth straight overall when the two teams meet Saturday at 7:05 p.m. ET for the second game of the three-game series at Comerica Park. Both teams are vying for the AL's wild card spot, and are currently tied with identical 64-55 records in the standings.
Detroit's Rick Porcello (9-7, 4.68 ERA) and Baltimore's Zach Britton (1-1, 8.10) are the projected starting pitchers for the game. Both pitchers have struggled lately. Porcello has given up at least eight hits in his last three starts and was tagged with six runs (four earned) in six innings against the Texas Rangers last week. Britton was sent to Triple-A Norfolk earlier this month following a rocky performance against the Seattle Mariners. He didn't fare much better in the minors, however, which is encouraging for the Tigers' powerful lineup. Detroit hit three home runs against the O's on Friday, including two by Prince Fielder.
