Angels Vs. Tigers: Late Game Offense Gives Detroit 5-3 Win

Despite digging themselves into an early 3-0 hole, the Tigers got their offense going in time to beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 on Saturday night.

The Angels got the scoring started in the third inning with a solo home run from Vernon Wells that was followed by another run in the third inning when Howie Kendrick drove in Bobby Wilson. Erick Aybar kept the scoring going with a double in the fourth inning that brought home Kendrys Morales.

But strong sixth and eighth innings for the Tigers erased the deficit and gave the Tigers the lead that they managed to hold for the remainder of the game. A double from Jhonny Peralta in the eighth drove in two and gave the Tigers their first lead of the night.

Reliever Octavio Dotel earned the win for the Tigers to boost his record to 4-2 on the season.
