Tigers Vs. Royals: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The Detroit Tigers suffered a tough loss on Tuesday night, scoring eight runs but still dropping a game in which Justin Verlander started and Miguel Cabrera came to the plate in the ninth inning with the tying run on third base. Wednesday, though, is a new day, and offers a new opportunity to try and make up ground on the Chicago White Sox, who have had their own trouble with the Baltimore Orioles this week.

The Tigers will turn to Anibal Sanchez, who has been up-and-down since being acquired from the Florida Marlins. He'll be looking to build on his last start, in which he gave up one earned run and struck out six in 6 2-3 innings against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Royals are one of a handful of teams that Sanchez has never faced in his career.

He'll be opposed by Royals starter Bruce Chen, who has settled into a groove in the last month after a disastrous run to open July. The good news for the Tigers is that they've beaten up on Chen in two starts this year, tagging him 14 hits and seven earned runs in 7 2-3 innings in 2011.

Game date/time: Wednesday, Aug. 29, 8:10 p.m. ET

Location: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.

TV: FSN Detroit
